Recently, my skin has been rather temperamental. I have tiny little bumps on my forehead and it is starting to annoy the crap out of me. I layer on the moisturisers and acne cream, but they are hardy little bastards! They simply refuse to go away. I decided to bust out the big guns and give my skin a good spring cleaning! I don't use this routine often, only when my skin condition is rather bad. Most of the time, I just use one 1 or 2 masks.
Step one: Cleanse my face with a facial cleanser.
Step two: Soap & Glory The Fab Pore 2 in 1 Facial Mask & Peel - As the name suggests, it is suppose to help exfoliate your face and de-congest your pores. It has a cooling and tingling feel when applied. After washing it away, it leaves a cooling sensation. My skin also looks clearer and brighter!
Step three: Origins Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask - The raves are true, this product is DA BOMB. Excuse my grubby little tube there. It actually semi-exploded from the top, so I had to tape it up to prevent the product from drying. Back to the product, it gives the skin a warming sensation as it gets deep into the skin to suck up all the dirt and gunk. After it has worked its magic, my forehead feels significantly smoother. The tiny bumps are also less apparent and I dare say, some have even disappeared!
After all that exfoliating and cleaning, my skin is usually a wee bit red. To calm my skin down from all that thorough cleansing, we move on to the final step.
Step four: Bonanza Cosmetics Gel Mask OR Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber Gel Mask - I love gel masks. Where I live, the climate is usually rather warm and humid. It feels super good to just layer a gel mask on my face and have a quick short nap. I always feel super refreshed after and my skin feels plumped and less dehydrated. Another brand to consider is the Naruko Tea Tree Shine Control & Blemish Clear Night Gelly. It is an overnight mask and is to be applied as the last step of your skincare routine. Have not personally tried it yet, but have read loads of good positive reviews.
Do you have a special mask routine for bad skin days?
